Carol Ann Finken-Loecken

The Mass of Christian Burial, celebrating the life of Carol Ann Finken-Loecken, age 81 of Albany, was held Tuesday, November 26, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Freeport. Carol died peacefully on Wednesday, November 20 at the Mother of Mercy Campus of Care.
Carol was born June 15, 1938 in St. Anthony to Edward and Rose (Althaus)Gerads. She was united in marriage to Don Finken on May 5, 1959. Don passed away on January 16, 1984. Carol married her second husband, Eugene “Gene” Loecken, on July 11, 2003. Gene passed away August 15, 2014.
Carol was a homemaker raising her and Don’s four children until Don passed away. She then worked at the Mother of Mercy Nursing Home as a Laundry Aide from 1984 until retiring in June 2003. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Freeport.
Carol is survived by her children, Debra (Bruce) Hinnenkamp, Albany; Jeanne (Bruce) Hoeschen, Freeport; Vicki (Glenn) Hinnenkamp, Melrose; Scott (Darlene) Finken, Albany. Seven grandchildren: Corey, Kayla, Samantha, Brandon, Olivia, Dalton and Cole and seven great-grandchildren. Siblings, JoAnn Heinen, Ramsey; Larry (Aggie) Gerads, St. Anthony, and Ruth (Fred) Linn, St. Anthony.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Rose; infant sister, Jane Marie Gerads, and husbands.
Carol was a kind and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She will always be remembered as Grandma Carol who always offered you something to drink and eat whenever you visited. Forever in our heart.
