
Cary “C.J.” Hollenkamp, age 54 of Freeport, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at the CentraCare Health Hospital in Melrose, Minnesota.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 18 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Freeport with Rev. Dan Walz officiating. Entombment was in the parish cemetery.
Cary Joseph Hollenkamp was born November 16, 1962 in Melrose, Minnesota to Leander and Dorothy (Hoppe) Hollenkamp. He attended Melrose High School and graduated in 1981. He went on to Hutchinson Area Vocational School where he studied to become a motorcycle mechanic. C.J. had various jobs in the past, with his most recent being at Auto Value in Albany. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and riding around on his motorcycle. C.J. will be sadly missed by family and friends.
Survivors include his parents, Leander and Dorothy Hollenkamp of Freeport; brother, Guy (Lisa) Hollenkamp of Becker; nephew, Logan (Megan) Hollenkamp of Eagan; niece, Alana Hollenkamp of Rogers; special friend, Therese; and many other relatives and friends.
C.J. was preceded in death by his infant twin brother, Cory Hollenkamp.
Serving as casket bearers were Paul Hoeschen, Larry Hoeschen, Germain Petermeier, Mark Koetter, Mike Ritter, and Steve Congdon. Cross bearer was Logan Hollenkamp and scripture bearer was Alana Hollenkamp. Reader was Megan Hollenkamp and gift bearers were Zach Hoeschen and Gavin Petermeier. Eulogy was read by Paul Hoeschen.
