Commander Steve Soyka advises that on July 10th, 2017, the Central Minnesota Violent Offender Task Force conducted a search warrant at the address of 304 Laudenbach Court, Apt. 213, in the City of St. Cloud related to controlled substances.
The task force had received information that the resident of this apartment was in possession of a larger quantity of marijuana. Task force officers obtained a search warrant to search the apartment and began conducting surveillance on the apartment. As officers arrived to serve the warrant, the resident, identified as Andrea Sorbo, 25 yo, of St. Cloud, was observed leaving her apartment with a large plastic bin. She was observed placing this bin in her car at which point officers approached her to detain her for the warrant. Officers could detect the strong odor of marijuana emanating from the car and the bin in particular. Officers then discovered approximately 3 pounds of marijuana inside the bin Sorbo had been carrying.
Upon Sorbo being detained officers conducted the search of her apartment where additional evidence of marijuana possession was located. Officers also located $1289.00 in U.S. Currency. The currency is subject to forfeiture. Sorbo was ultimately placed under arrest and transported to the Stearns County Jail where she was booked for 5th degree possession of controlled substance.
The Central Minnesota Violent Offender Task Force was assisted by the St. Cloud Police Department patrol division. The task force is comprised of officers from the cities of Little Falls, Sauk Rapids, and St. Cloud, along with deputies from Stearns, Sherburne, Todd, Morrison and Benton County Sheriff Office’s.
