Commander Steve Soyka reports that on Nov. 22nd in the early morning hours, the Central MN Violent Offender Task Force conducted a search warrant at the address of 934 Longview Drive in the City of St. Cloud. The search warrant was served by the St. Cloud Police Department SWAT team. The search warrant was obtained after investigators received information of possible drug dealing occurring out of the residence and observed activities consistent with that information.
During the search several people were home at the time. It was determined that several people had active warrants for their arrest. All parties were taken into custody and transported to the Sherburne County Jail. Arrested at the scene were; Jason Rau, 28 yoa, of St. Cloud for an active warrant for 4th degree controlled substance charges and possession of a sawed off shotgun, David Turner, 47 yo, of St. Cloud, for a felony level Department of Corrections warrant, and Dragon Wood-Hillman, 21 yoa, of St. Cloud, for a DANCO violation warrant. Also home at the time was the homeowner, Dhanrajia Brooks, 43 yoa.
During the search a methamphetamine lab was located along with numerous chemicals used for making methamphetamine. Brooks may face charges of 1st degree manufacturing of a controlled substance as a result, pending official state lab analysis. Based on the discovery of the meth lab and associated chemicals VOTF required the assistance of a DEA certified clean up company from the Twin Cities to dispose of the hazardous waste.
The City of St. Cloud health inspector was summoned to the scene and condemned the house based on current case law and the presence of the hazardous chemicals. This would be the second search warrant executed at the residence in the past 5 months for controlled substance violations.
The Central MN Violent Offender Task Force was assisted by the St. Cloud Police Department SWAT team and the Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office. The task force is comprised of officers from the cities of St. Cloud, Sauk Rapids, and Little Falls, and deputies from Stearns, Benton, Sherburne, Todd, and Morrison County Sheriff Office’s.
