Commander Steve Soyka reports that in the early morning hours of Dec. 1st, 2017, the Central Minnesota Violent Offender Task Force conducted a search warrant at the address of 235 18th Avenue North, City of St. Cloud. The search warrant was executed by the St. Cloud Police Department SWAT team due to the possible presence of firearms inside the residence.
During the search of the residence several people were present. One party was arrested and transported to the Stearns County Jail. The arrested party was identified as Antonius Garth, 26 yoa, of St. Cloud. He faces charges of 1st degree possession of a controlled substance, 1st degree possession with intent to distribute, being a felon in possession of a firearm, and a felon in possession of ammunition.
Investigators located approximately 1 ounce of heroin, 2 ounces of cocaine, and a small caliber handgun in the search. Also located was approximately $3400.00 in U.S. Currency which is subject to forfeiture.
The task force was assisted by the St. Cloud Police Department SWAT team and patrol division. The task force is comprised of officers from the cities of St. Cloud, Little Falls, and Sauk Rapids and deputies from Stearns, Benton, Sherburne, Todd and Morrison County Sheriff Offices.
