Commander Jay Salzer advised that on July 16, 2020, the Central Minnesota Violent Offender Task Force (VOTF) conducted a search warrant at a residence in the 5000 block of 17th Avenue Northeast, City of Foley, County of Benton. Investigators learned through numerous sources including citizen tips and other investigation techniques, that an individual at that address, was believed to be in possession of firearms but was prohibited from possessing a firearm.
While investigators executed the search warrant, they located several individuals including Grant Christopher Saxon, 18 years of age from Foley Mn. Saxon had an apprehension and detention order issued on him from Stearns County and had two hand guns and ammo in his possession. Grant is prohibited from possessing firearms.
Investigators also located over 250 grams of suspected marijuana, over 100 pills of suspected Xanax pills, and a small amount of suspected marijuana wax. Saxon was transported to Stearns County Jail where he is being held on his apprehension and detention order. Saxon then will be transported to Benton County Jail where he will be held on 5th degree possession of controlled substance and two counts of an ineligible person in possession of firearm.
The Central Minnesota Violent Offender Task Force was assisted by the Foley Police Department and the Benton County Sheriff’s Office. The Central Minnesota Violent Offender Task Force is comprised of Investigators from St. Cloud, and Sartell, Police Departments and deputies from Stearns, Benton, Sherburne, Todd and Morrison Counties Sheriff Office.
