Commander Steve Soyka advises that on May 18th, 2017 the Central Minnesota Violent Offender Task Force conducted a search warrant at the address of 1015 10 Ave SW, City of Little Falls MN related to the sales of controlled substances. Investigators received information that marijuana sales were occurring out of the residence and applied for a search warrant.
Investigators executed the search warrant at the above address and at the time 2 parties were inside the home. The homeowner, identified as Stephen Michael Burke, 38 yo, of Little Falls, was not home at the time of the warrant. Another party identified as Cheyenne Jaye Marie Hart, 19 yo, of Little Falls, was home along with a male party. During the search, investigators located approximately 2 pounds of marijuana and numerous items of drug paraphernalia.
Based on the locations of the marijuana found, Hart was arrested and transported to the Morrison County Jail where she was booked and released on 5th degree possession of controlled substance charges. The male party home at the time was not charged with any crime. Reports will be sent to the Morrison County Attorney’s Office for review of potential criminal charges against the homeowner Burke for 5th degree possession of a controlled substance also.
This is the second search warrant at Stephen Burke’s address for controlled substances. The last search warrant conducted by the task force in October 2016 netted a larger quantity of controlled substance for which criminal charges were pressed.
The Central Minnesota Violent Offender Task Force was assisted in this investigation by the Morrison County Sheriff Office and the Little Falls Police Department, along with the Minnesota State Patrol. The task force is comprised of officers from the cities of Little Falls, Sauk Rapids and St. Cloud Police Departments and deputies from Stearns, Morrison, Sherburne, Todd and Benton County Sheriff Offices.
