Central Minnesota Violent Offender Task Force execute search warrant in Melrose

On February 8th 2019 the Central Minnesota Violent Offender Task Force, executed a search warrant at 304 3rd St Se, Melrose Mn. During the search warrant, Investigators seized approximately 3.7 pounds of methamphetamine and close to $6000.00 U.S. Currency. As a result of the search warrant, Juan Morales Alvarez 5/12/1996 from Melrose, was arrested as he was leaving the residence. Alvarez was arrested on 1st degree controlled substance charges and brought to Stearns County Jail. More arrests are expected as a result of this case.
The Central Minnesota Violent Offender Task Force is comprised of officers from Sauk Rapids, and St. Cloud Police Departments and deputies from Stearns, Benton, Sherburne, Todd and Morrison County Sheriff Offices.
The Central Minnesota Violent Offender Task Force was assisted by Melrose Police Department, Sauk Center Police Department, Minnesota State Patrol, and U.S. Postal Inspection Service.
