Charlene E. Petermeier

Charlene E. “Char” Petermeier, age 88 of Albany, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, August 12, 2018 at Serenity Village in Avon, Minnesota.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday, August 17 at Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Albany with Rev. Julius Beckerman officiating. Entombment will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church in Albany. Parish prayers will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday evening at the church.
Charlene Elizabeth Hoeschen was born August 12, 1930 in Freeport, Minnesota to Conrad and Elizabeth (Kleve) Hoeschen. She married John “Jack” Petermeier on October 27, 1956 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Freeport. Charlene was an Aide at Albany Public School. She did alterations, made doll blankets, quilts, curtains, and Christmas stockings. She is known for her homemade caramel rolls and bread and for making delicious roast beef. Charlene has touched many lives in the Albany community.
She was a member of Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Albany and spent a lot of time volunteering for the church. She was also a member of the Christian Mothers and St. Ann’s Society.
Survivors include her husband, John “Jack” Petermeier of Albany; children, Lisa Petermeier of Albany and Andrew Petermeier of Atlanta, GA; five grandchildren, Nicole Popplewell, Jamie Feldhege, Philip Lundeen, Cori Lundeen, and Jenna Petermeier; six great-grandchildren, Brandon, Olivia, Colton, Hannah, Carter, Charlie, and baby Elliot John on the way; and sisters, Shirley Uphoff of Melrose and Judy (Ray “Skip”) Kmitch of St. Cloud.
Charlene was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Roger and LeRoy Hoeschen; and sisters, Donna Kerfeld and Lorene Pfau.
Serving as casket bearers will be Nicole Popplewell, Jamie Fedhege, Lynsey Feldhege, Philip Lundeen, and Cori Lynn Lundeen. Cross bearer will be Brandon Lundeen and scripture bearer will be Olivia Feldhege.
