Charles M. Wunderlich

Charles M. Wunderlich, 82 year old resident of Burtrum, MN passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2016 surrounded by family at Bethesda Hospital in St. Paul, MN. Funeral service was held Monday, August 1, 2016 at Faith Community Church in Burtrum, MN with Rev. Terry Wardlaw officiating. Burial took place at the Moses Dane Cemetery in Burtrum, MN.
Charlie was born on June 26, 1934 in Garrison, MN to the late Earl and Vera Wunderlich. He grew up in Burtrum, MN and attended school through the 8th grade, and graduated from Grey Eagle High School. Charlie entered the U.S. Navy in 1952 and served on the U.S.S. New Destroyer (#818) until being honorably discharged in 1956. After his service, he returned to Burtrum and farmed until retiring in 1992. Charlie continued to live in Burtrum until he moved to Village View Apartments in 1999, then to St. Otto’s Care Center in 2011. Charlie was a dedicated farmer, always looking after others and would help anyone no matter what. He enjoyed spending time with family and he loved his lottery tickets.
He will be dearly missed by sons, Kevin (Danicia) Wunderlich of Burtrum, MN; and James Wunderlich of Burtrum, MN; brother, William (Julie) Wunderlich of Foley, MN; grandchildren, Cody, Jake, Dylan, Gage, Noah, Kacie, and Jeremiah; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Henry Wunderlich; and parents, Earl and Vera.
