Meeting called to order by Jill Kurowski at 7:00 p.m. on January 21, 2016.
Agendas were handed out.
Minutes and Treasurers report were approved by Bob Pallansch and second by Steve Neville.
Debra Bellman volunteered to be the Treasurer and Shelly Primus volunteered to be the Secretary. Approved by Steve Neville and second by all.
Discussion to whether or not to change the membership dues. Currently at $25.00 for Bronze, $50.00 for Silver, and $100.00 for Gold. Also, adding an Honorary Member category for any other community members that would like to contribute to the organization. Due notices will be sent out the beginning of February. Approved by Bob Pallansch and second by Steve Neville.
Last year for the Easter Egg Hunt we had 65 kids. One of the better years of attendance to date. This year the Easter Egg Hunt will take place on March 19, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the park in Grey Eagle (weather permitting) or St. Joseph’s Church. Also, weather permitting a petting zoo for the children.
Fishing opener last year there were 14 garage sales. It will be done again this year on fishing opener the 13th and 14th of May.
GemFest last year there were 21 garage sales, 14 Farmer’s Market Vendors, and the kids’ fest had a great turnout. GemFest this year is July 15th-17th. We will again do the Farmer’s Market and garage sales. Kids’ Fun Fest will work the same as last year using the same vendors for the bouncy house and tractor pull. American Dairy Association will also be contacted to be there.
Bob Kutter is going to contact an organization in Little Falls to assist us in having a Farmer’s Market every Saturday during the warmer months.
Many ideas were tossed around for National Night Out and the second concert. It is all TBD: DNR Demo, Todd County K-9 Demo, Fire Department Demo, Band options, Talent Show.
Car Show-Tractor Pull: Last year there was a great turnout even though the weather wasn’t so cooperative. This will be held September 4, 2016. Undetermined if the group will participate in this event this year or not.
Halloween was not done last year due to it being on the weekend. This year it is on a Monday and we are going with a Trunk or Treat theme.
Christmas Holiday kick-off: We paired with the Credit Union last year to spice up their open house night. Also had vendors set up at Our Daily Bread and many other businesses had specials or treats that evening. Great turn out and nice weather. Many ideas were again tossed around including fireworks and DNR Demo. Date and event are TBD.
