Diane M. Giese, 68 year old resident of Brooklyn Center, MN, formerly of Swanville, MN, passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2019 at the Country Manor Rehabilitation Center in Sartell, MN. A Gathering of family and friends will take place from 1 to 3 PM on Friday, September 27th at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Swanville. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery in Swanville.
Diane Marie Giese was born on February 18, 1951 in Little Falls, MN to the late Anton and Beatrice (Dehn) Giese. Diane worked at Lutheran Brotherhood in financial services, retiring after more than 30 years. The last few years of her career, Diane was the trainer for financial, policy and correspondence services. She enjoyed playing the snare drums through high school and later played in the Lutheran Brotherhood band. She also took piano lessons at the MacPhail Center. After retirement, she continued her love of gardening, sewing, arts and crafts projects.
Diane is survived by her sisters, Carol Giese of Brooklyn Park, MN and Amy Benafghoul of St. Joseph, MN; brothers, Roger Giese of Long Prairie, MN and Alvin (Betsy) Giese of Swanville, MN; nephew, Anton “Tony” (Teresa) Giese of Swanville, MN and their daughters, Zoe & Allie; niece, Anne (John) Magnuson of Chaska, MN and their children, Kaitlyn and Ryan.
Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Anton and Beatrice Giese and infant brother, Loren.
