Dolores A. Warga, 90 year old resident of Holdingford, MN passed away Monday, July 30, 2018 at her home with her family by her side. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at the Community Country Church in Holdingford, MN with Rev. Gregg Valentine officiating. Burial will take place at South Elmdale Congregational Church Cemetery in rural Holdingford, MN. A visitation will be held from 4-8 P.M. on Wednesday and from 10-11 A.M. on Thursday at the Community Country Church in Holdingford, MN.
Dolores was born March 22, 1928 in Kandota Township of Todd County, MN to Floyd and Martha (Gogerty) Norton. Dolores graduated from Villard High School in 1946. She worked in what was then known as a “dime” store in St. Cloud and helped her siblings with their families until she married Ray Warga on June 18, 1955, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in St. Cloud, MN. Dolores spent the rest of her life dedicated to her family and being a farming partner with Ray on their family farm. She was a member of Community Country Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher for many years, was involved in the Ladies Missionary Society and assisted with the treasurer’s position and church recordkeeping. Dolores was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who had a very strong faith in God. She will be remembered for her service and hospitality to others. She shared her love of embroidering, gardening, baking and cooking with many family and friends.
Dolores will be missed by her children, Tom Warga of Ashby, MN, Bruce (Cheryl) Warga of Holdingford, MN and Ann (Dave) Anderson of Ashby, MN; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; sister-in-laws, Margaret Bachman of Maple Grove, MN, Betty Warga, of Albany, MN; and Joan Warga, St. Cloud, MN; as well as many extended family members and friends.
Dolores was preceded in death by her husband, Ray; her parents; infant daughter; infant twin brother; brothers, Marion, Dale, Ervin, Donald and Kenneth; sisters Agnes, Elva and Eleanor; and granddaughter Julie Warga.
