Donavon Delorme, Red Lake Falls, MN, 73, passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at Sanford Medical Center, Thief River Falls, MN.
Mass of Christian burial was held Saturday, September 26, 2020 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Red Lake Falls, MN with Father Bob Schreiner Officiating, Burial was at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery.
Donavon Delorme was born March 6, 1947 in Crookston, MN, the son of George and Alice (Schue) Delorme. He was baptized into the Catholic faith. He attended St. Joseph’s Catholic School and Lafayette High School, graduating in 1965. Donavon furthered his education at Bemidji State University earning a Tech Degree, graduating in 1969.
While Donavon was in college he worked part-time for the Soo Line Railroad. In 1969 he started teaching school. From 1969 until 2004 when he retired, Donavon taught at Melrose, MN. He was also in used auto and trailer sales in Melrose and Red Lake Falls, MN.
Donavon enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, wood-working, traveling and hobby farming. He was a member of Red Lake Falls Sportsman Club, Melrose Federation of Teachers and Melrose Chamber of Commerce.
He is survived by his companion, Sherryl Plotnik; step-daughter, Emilie (Jason) Thoennes, Garfield, MN; along with many cousins, and his hunting companion, Bailey.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Alice Delorme.
