Dorothy A. Prevost, age 82 of Melrose, died Friday, April 10, 2015 at CentraCare Health Nursing Home in Melrose, Minnesota.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday, April 14 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Melrose and Rev. Marvin Enneking and Rev. Ken Thielman officiated. Interment followed in the parish cemetery.
Dorothy Ann Dickinson was born April 17, 1932 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to Raymond and Mathilda (Heinz) Dickinson. She married Russell Prevost on July 20, 1956 in Sauk Rapids, Minnesota and they later divorced. She worked at various occupations in Michigan and Florida before coming to Melrose to live with her sister, Donna, in 2003. For the past two years she had resided at Pine Villa Nursing Home. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Dorothy enjoyed search word, flower gardening, crocheting, knitting, and embroidery. She was well liked and loved by many. She will be sadly missed.
Survivors include her sisters, Donna Mae Frank and Betty Lou Dickinson, both of Melrose; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Virgil, Raymond, Elmer, Donald, Paul, Robert, and Jimmy Dickinson; sisters, Viola Stein, Irene Boldt, and Beatrice Ramacher.
Serving as casket bearers were Dale and Deb Hellermann, Keith and Kevin Frank, Phil and Denise Terwey. Cross bearer was Nancy Hieb and scripture bearer was Barry Hellermann.
