The Mass of Christian Burial, celebrating the life of Dorothy Hubertina (Lange) Meier, age 95, of Holdingford, MN, International Woman of Mystery, was held 10:30 AM, Saturday, January 21 at the Church of All Saints, St. Mary’s in Holdingford. Burial was in the parish cemetery. She died peacefully in her home on the Meier Farm, very well aware of the love of her family and many friends around her.
Dorothy was born August 13, 1921 in Krain Township, Stearns County, to Henry and Johanna (Gerads) Lange. She grew up in the St. Francis area and graduated from Upsala High School in 1939. She married Cyril Meier on June 7th, 1945 in St. Francis of Assisi Church in St. Francis, MN. The couple lived on the Meier Farm in Holdingford for 71 years all of their live long days. She was a member of the Church of All Saints, St. Mary’s and the St. Mary’s Christian Women.
She is survived by her children, Lenore (Myles) Dawson, Avon; Leone (Clarence) Fowler, Holdingford; Patrick (Deb) Meier, Holdingford; and her sister Bernice Welters, Crystal and ten grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Cyril, her sisters and brother; Cecilia Livingston, Elizabeth (Walbert) Stueve, Louise (Lloyd) Hagstrom, Virginia (Tom) Gobel and Alfred Lange. Also, her great-grandson, Caden.
