Duane R. Loxterkamp, 67 year old resident of Swanville, MN passed away Friday, August 17, 2018 at his residence. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Swanville, MN with Father Ron Dockendorf officiating. Burial will take place in the St. John’s Parish Cemetery in Swanville, MN. A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 PM on Wednesday and one hour prior to the service on Thursday all at St. John’s Catholic Church. Parish Prayers will be at 7 PM on Wednesday.
Duane “Dewey” Loxterkamp was born on January 13, 1951 in Melrose, Minnesota to the late Anthony And Louise (Hiltner) Loxterkamp. He grew up and attended school in Swanville, Minnesota where he graduated with the class of 1969. In 1970 he started working at Kraft, and stayed with the company until his retirement in 2011. Duane enjoyed playing cards, spending time with family and friends, gardening, pontooning on the lake, and playing with his grandchildren. Although he struggled with Parkinson’s Disease, his grandchildren filled, even his most challenging days, with happiness and laughter. He will be greatly missed by many.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Sheri (Jeff Nelson) of Little Falls, Derek Loxterkamp of Swanville, and Brittney Loxterkamp of Swanville; grandchildren, Josh (Rebekah) Nelson of Little Falls, Jordan Nelson of Little Falls, Emilee and Izabella of Swanville; great-grandchild Ella Nelson; siblings, John Loxterkamp of Swanville, Marvin Loxterkamp of Minneapolis, Alan Loxterkamp of Swanville, Gary Loxterkamp of Swanville, Mike (Janice) Loxterkamp of Swanville, Kathleen (Gerald) Zyvoloski of Sobieski, Lois (John) Blais of St. Michael, Debra (Mark) Sieben of Swanville, Michelle (Anthony II) Notermann of Swanville, and many nieces and nephews.
Duane was proceeded in death by his parents, Anthony and Louise Loxterkamp; brother James Loxterkamp; son, Darin Loxterkamp, and grandson Cace.
