On December 7, 2020 at 6:06 a.m. the Stearns County Communications Center received a call from a female reporting she was involved in a single motor vehicle crash and had injuries.
Stearns County Deputies arrived on scene and found a Pontiac Grand Prix in the west ditch at the intersection of Co Rd 30 and Co Rd 174 in Oak Township, 4 miles southeast of the City of Freeport. Brianna Lange, 25 of Albany, was driving westbound on Co Rd 174 approaching the T intersection of Co Rd 30. Lange said she was unable to see the stop sign in time due to the dense fog limiting visibility and also causing icy roads. The Grand Prix slid off the embankment and landed upright in Getchell Creek.
The driver was transported to the Melrose Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Melrose Ambulance and Freeport Fire and Rescue.
