ST CLOUD, Minn. (9:13 a.m.) – The Minnesota Department of Transportation and the Minnesota State Patrol have opened all lanes of eastbound I-94 between the County Road 18/39 interchange in Monticello, and County Road 19 in Albertville. The interstate had been closed since approximately 5 a.m. today due to a semi crash.
Driving conditions are hazardous with nearly all roads ice covered or compacted in Stearns, Wright, Benton, Sherburne, Mille Lacs counties and bordering areas. Visibility is poor in many areas, and is expected to decrease as the storm progresses.
Motorists should avoid all unnecessary travel. Those who must travel on icy roads must use extreme caution.
Motorists are reminded that snow plows are out on every state road in the counties listed above, and operate between 20 and 30 miles per hour during a snow storm. Motorists who choose to travel must reduce their speed, watch for snow plows operating at 20-30 miles per hour and be prepared to slow down or stop if necessary.
