Memorial Services celebrating the life of Edna M. Brick, 91, of Holdingford, will be 10 AM Thursday, August 14, 2014 at the Church of All Saints – St. Mary in Holdingford. Fr. David Grundman will officiate and burial will take place in the parish cemetery. Edna passed away early Saturday morning with her family at her side. There will be a visitation after 9 AM on Thursday at the church.
Edna (Young) Brick was born September 23, 1922 to Ella (Eiden) and Leo Young. She graduated from St. Cloud Teachers college. She married Eugene Brick on October, 1947. She taught school most of her adult life, from one and two room school houses to finishing her career teaching 4th grade in Holdingford, MN. She loved traveling, have traveled to many states and also to Canada, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. She was a phenomenal cook and baker. She loved entertaining and was known for her many plates of cookies in the freezer at Christmas time. Her apple pies were so special and her orange bow knots which always were a hit. She loved to sew, quilt and stamping. She enjoyed having her grandchildren and great grandchildren come visit her and attended a lot of her grandchildren’s special events.
Edna is survived by her children, Jan (Arnie) Wentland and Mary (Mark) Ebnet; her grandchildren; Chris (Stephanie) Wentland, Maple Grove, Matt Wentland, Denver, CO, Nate (Jenny) Wentland, Alicia Wentland, Brisbane, Australia,Tyler (Tina) Ebnet, Cedar Rapids, IA, Dayna Ebnet, Denver, CO her great grandchildren; Wyatt (18), Mitch (11), Marissa (9), Kelsey (7), her sister, Lucille (Lando) Kutzke. Edna was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Eugene.
