Former Area Resident Arrested In St. Cloud On Sexual Assault Charges
Former Upsala student and Burtrum resident Dustin Bartkowicz, age 34, was arrested this week after an alleged violent sexual assault on his tent mate.
Bartkowicz and his alleged victim were living in a tent in St. Cloud at the time of the alleged incident Wednesday.
Authorities say 34-year-old Dustin Bartkowicz allegedly raped and choked his female victim, after she told Bartkowicz she was leaving him while trying to collect her possessions from the tent they were using for a home.
Additionally, according to the complaint, Bartkowicz threatened to kill her by hitting her in the head with a brick.
This victim was treated at the St. Cloud hospital for injuries including a broken rib.
Charging include first degree criminal sexual conduct, terroristic threats, and domestic assault. Bartkowicz could face up to 73 years in prison from the charges filed against him.
