Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30am on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at St. Benedict’s Church in Avon for Frances Elizabeth Fuchs, 98, of Albany who died Sunday, June 3 at Mother of Mercy in Albany. Rev. Blaine Wasnie, OSB, will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends and relatives may call one hour prior to mass on Thursday at the church.
Frances was born on April 25, 1914 to Matthias and Wilhelmina (Hollenkamp) Thielen in St. Rosa. She married Edmund Fuchs on November 19, 1940 in St. Rosa. Frances was a homemaker who enjoyed working in her garden and canning. She also loved to sew and bake, winning many blue ribbons at the county and state fair for her baking. The last year and a half, Frances also enjoyed living at Mother of Mercy.
Frances is survived by her children; Ervin (Renee) of Farmington, Ralph (Cecelia) of Greenville, PA; grandchildren, Ralph Jr. (Kelly), Angie (Jeremy) Gaus, Lurleen (Drew) Fernholz, Lisa Fuchs; and 5 great-grandchildren.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Edmund, on November 26, 1980; siblings, Magdalena Zwack, Mary Thielen, Katherine Gelking, Joseph Thielen, Fredericka Thielen, Henry Thielen, Anna Berndt and Loretta Thielen.
