Francis A. Steuk of Long Prairie passed away March 28, 2021.
Francis was born to Selma Steuck and Frank Steinert on July 7, 1944. Selma delighted in this baby and watched him grow into a hardworking man. Selma was a woman with a strong work ethic and Francis followed in her footsteps. Francis graduated with the class of 1962 from Long Prairie High School. He was employed by Starry Construction when he married Shirley Hedin. Shirley and Francis became proud parents of John Joseph. Francis later worked for Petron Farms and for several farmers in the Long Prairie area. He worked as a bouncer at Horseshoe Lake Ballroom as well.
Three more children were born to Francis’ family. Debbie Berndt and Francis added Bobby, Cindy, and Kelly.
Francis was known for his kindness and respect for others. He was a good listener, showed up for others, and gave his service to many in his life. Francis was a member of the National Guard for twelve years. Frances was a humble man who impacted the lives of many people. He lived a simple basic life, full of gratitude. Francis loved the outdoors, knew how to cook, take care of himself, and gave back much more than he had been given. He leaves a rich legacy of children who share kindness and respect for those they know.
Francis was preceded in death by his mother, Selma and father, Frank.
Left to celebrate Francis’ love are his children: John Joseph “Joe” and Tina: Bobby and Mandy; Cindy; Kelly and Robert; grandchildren: Casey Jo, Hunter Joe, and Joseph John Steuck; Abigail Mae, Alexis Leigh, and Anthony Joseph Berndt, Joseph Edwin Bond; and Montana Lynn Tramm, Andrew Lee Steuck, Sierra Brooke Ondracek, and Robert Neal Owen, Jr.
Francis’ life was celebrated on Friday, April 9th at Williams-Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Stein Chapel, Long Prairie. Kali Christensen officiated. Francis was buried with military honors at Evergreen Cemetery, Long Prairie. Pallbearers: John “Joe” Steuck, Bobby Berndt, Tom Kroll, Tim Kroll, John “Hans” Kroll, and Jeff Twardowski.
