Gary Kahler, 44 year old resident of Little Falls, MN, died Thursday, June 14 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in St. Paul, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, June 18 at 11:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN with Father Mark Innocenti officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
Gary Kahler was born June 6, 1968 in Edina, MN to Gary and Janet (Durand) Kahler. He grew up in Chaska, MN and graduated form Chaska High School in 1987. After graduation he attended Hennepin County Technical College and received a diploma in Mechanical Drafting. He was united in marriage to Kay Meyer on October 24, 1998 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Meire Grove, Minnesota. The couple made their home in Little Falls, MN, where they have raised their four children. Gary worked for Simplexgrinnell Fire Protection in St. Cloud, MN, where he was a sprinkler system designer. Gary enjoyed model trains, fire trucks, watching NASCAR races, outdoor activities, TV watching and all types of skiing. Gary loved bringing people together especially family and friends. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Kay Kahler of Little Falls, MN; children, Scott Kahler, Allyson Kahler, Sarah Kahler and Anna Kahler all at home in Little Falls, MN; brother, Todd Kahler of Coates, MN, grandmother, Agnes Kahler of Lakeville, MN, mother, Janet (Dwight) Schultz of Chaska, MN, father, Gary Kahler, Sr. of New Prague, MN; step-brother, Paul Schultz of Carver, MN, step-sister, Patty Brumm of Cologne, MN. several cousins, brothers and sisters-in-law and 25 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Scott Kahler; uncle, Buddy Durand; maternal grandparents, Willard and Louise Durand; paternal grandfather, Morris Kahler.
