Grey Eagle City • Special Meeting June 17, 2014

The special meeting of the Grey Eagle City Council was called to order at 7:00 p.m., on the 17th day of June, 2014 in council chambers. Council members present were Ralph Muellner, Dennis Barrett, Andrea Kraska and Thom Muellner. There were no council members absent. Also in attendance were Lori Hellmann, City Attorney Tim Churchwell and guest Bob Pallansch.
The council discussed the sewer ordinance regarding sump pumps discharging into the sanitary sewer system. At last council meeting the council approved a motion to have the ability to inspect homes for how sump pumps are discharged and providing for a surcharge. These changes require a change to the existing ordinance. Tim Churchwell provided the council with an amendment, addition and re-numbering of city code 5.20 – 5.27 of Chapter 5, Utilities, to regulate the Discharge of Sump Pumps into the sanitary sewer system.
A motion was made by Thom Muellner to call for a public hearing ordinance change July 8, 2014 at 8:00 p.m., in council chambers. A second was made by Dennis Barrett and upon roll call vote the following members voted in favor: Thom Muellner, Dennis Barrett, Andrea Kraska, Ralph Muellner and Jim Gohman. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Dennis Barrett to approve the installation of additional lighting for the volleyball courts at Lions Centennial Park at no cost to the city. A second was made by Ralph Muellner and upon vote, with all members voting in favor, motion carried.
A motion was made by Thom Muellner to adjourn at 7:53 p.m. A second was made by Andrea Kraska and upon vote, with all members voting in favor, motion carried. Lori Hellmann, Clerk
