Grey Eagle City • July 13, 2021

Oath of Office was given to newly appointed council member Brad Johnson.
The regular meeting of the Grey Eagle City Council was called to order by Mayor Joseph Arnzen at 7:00 p.m., on the 13th day of July 2021 in council chambers. Council members present were Roland Ahrendt, Brad Johnson, Bill Pohlmann and Brian Hollenkamp. There were no council members absent. Also in attendance were John Call, Lori Hellmann and guests Bryan Bye, Evelyn Budde, Tim Ainali, Janine Kutter, Dave Borchert and Jane Eizenhoefer.
A motion was made by Bill Pohlmann to approve the amended agenda. A second was made by Roland Ahrendt and upon vote, with all members voting in favor, motion carried.
A motion was made by Roland Ahrendt to approve the minutes of the June 8, 2021 meeting as written. A second was made by Brian Hollenkamp and upon vote, with all members voting in favor, motion carried.
John reported on routine maintenance items that were done over the past month. A motion was made by Roland Ahrendt to approve the purchase of 10 picnic tables from Central Lakes Restaurant Supply for $10,016.67. The money to pay for the tables will be taken out of the RV Park Project funds. A second was made by Brad Johnson and upon vote, with all members voting in favor, motion carried.
A motion was made by Brian Hollenkamp to approve water and sewer connections to Jane Eizenhoefer and Dave Borchert’s garage, and to remove the trees in the boulevard at their expense. A second was made by Brad Johnson and upon vote, with all members voting in favor, motion carried.
Bryan Bye updated the council on the sewer project.
A motion was made by Bill Pohlmann to approve change order #2 for $654.04. A second was made by Brian Hollenkamp and upon vote, with all members voting in favor, motion carried.
A motion was made by Brian Hollenkamp to approve pay request #6 to C & L Excavating for $726,166.89. A second was made by Roland Ahrendt and upon vote, with all members voting in favor, motion carried.
The council will discuss property clean up at the August meeting.
The council is working on building permit checklist and procedures as well as committee duties.
A motion was made by Bill Pohlmann to approve the donation request of $260 to Initiative Foundation. A second was made by Brad Johnson and upon vote, with all members voting in favor, motion carried.
There were no building permit applications for council consideration.
Council instructed the Clerk to check with Update Building Supplies to see if they could build the sandbox.
A motion was made by Brian Hollenkamp to approve closing Woodman Street South from Spruce Street East to Pearl Street East on August 14th for the Grey Eagle Fire Department Relief Association Corn and Ham Feed. A second was made by Roland Ahrendt and upon vote, with all members voting in favor, motion carried.
The rescue rig was damaged and once the estimate for repairs is received, the clerk will submit it to the insurance company.
A motion was made by Brian Hollenkamp to approve payment of claims #2181-#2198 totaling $776,191.96. A second was made by Bill Pohlmann and upon vote, with all members voting in favor, motion carried.
A motion was made by Brian Hollenkamp to adjourn the meeting at 8:37 p.m. A second was made by Roland Ahrendt and upon vote, with all members voting in favor, motion carried.
The next regular meeting of the Grey Eagle City Council will be held on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 in council chambers.
