Call to Order: Ron Frericks called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. The pledge of allegiance was recited.
Members Present: Ron Frericks, Ray Bense, Mary Ann Primus & Mike Rohe.
Agenda Approval: A preliminary agenda was presented. Ron asked if there were any additions to the agenda. Ray made the motion to accept the agenda. Mike made the second. All in favor. Motion carried.
Approval of Minutes: The clerk provided copies of the March 2, 2015 minutes to the board. Mike made the motion to approve the minutes as written. Ray made the second, all in favor. Minutes approved.
Town Clerk’s Report: Clerk presented the claims list for March. Claims list included 15 claims for a total of $24,724.97 this included the first half of the fire contract. Ray made the motion to approve the claims; Mike made the second, Motion carried unanimously. Letters received included advertising for office supplies, playground equipment and a letter from the attorney for settlement court date on a property within Grey Eagle Township. Todd County Officers Meeting is April 9th in Browerville and the Equalization meeting is on April 14 at the Township Hall.
Treasurer’s Report: Mary Ann Primus presented the treasurer’s report as follows: Beginning Balance as of March 1, 2015: $152,209.39; Checks cleared: 10, $3,966.57; Deposits including interest: $17,555.39; Balance as of March 31, 2015: $165,798.21; Outstanding Deposits: 0.00; Outstanding Checks: 0.00; Cash Available: $165,798.21; CD Balance: $122,896.47.
Ray made the motion to accept the treasurer’s report. Second by Mike. All in favor, Motion carried.
Road and Bridge Report: Ray did a check of all the culverts, the one on 130th E. needs to be repaired or removed, Ray also followed up a report of tires in roadway ditch, which he picked up and notified the sheriff’s office. He had a call again about 116th which the supervisors will look at when they do the spring road check. Road check date was set for April 25, 2015 starting at 9:00 am. Erv H. presented the dust control agreement. This year’s cost will be 74 cents per foot. The Township will again pay ½ the cost for any residents interested. The cost to residents will be 37 cents per foot. Some discussion on whether the Township will again apply product to certain test areas. Motion was made by Mike and 2nd by Ray to accept the contract for magnesium chloride at 100 ft. x 18 ft. for $74.00. All in favor. Motion carried. Erv H. also presented the Gravel contract which was approved at $6.55 per yard, with a motion by Mike and second by Ray. All in favor, motion carried. Erv then presented the Blading contract at $82.50 per hour which also was slightly higher than last year. Ray made the motion to accept the Blading contract, Mike made the second. All in favor, Motion carried.
Additional agenda items: The Township Short Course was reviewed. Not much new, some felt inaccurate as far as culverts. More record keeping suggestions for the clerk/treas. Ray reported on the weed meeting at Todd County, he said most of the weeds on the list were not in Minnesota and the one that was, is bittersweet. They also talked about a ditch program which Ray will check into.
