Call to Order: Ron Frericks called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. The pledge of allegiance was recited.
Members Present: Ron Frericks, Ray Bense, Mary Ann Primus and Mike Rohe.
Agenda Approval: A preliminary agenda was presented. Ron asked if there were additions to the agenda. Mary Ann asked to include discussion on January meeting date. Mike made the motion to accept the agenda as amended. Ray made the second. All in favor. Motion carried.
Approval of Minutes: The clerk provided copies of the November 6, 2017 minutes to the board. Ray made the motion to accept the minutes, Mike made the second. Minutes approved.
Town Clerk’s Report: Clerk presented the claims list for November. Claims list included claims 3122-3131 for a total of $5,003.97. Ray made the motion to approve the claims; Mike made the second, Motion carried. Mail included advertising and a email from an attorney regarding ATV use.
Road and Bridge Report: Ray reported that the new culvert was installed on the approach along 335th. The driveways and approaches received gravel after the new tar project. Washouts on Cozy Cove were repaired. Ray did a road check and found them to be in good condition. Discussion on the new tar and tar projects- as there were some areas in need of repair, Mike made a motion to withhold $11,000 from the total claim for the road project. Ray made a second, motion carried. Discussion on which CD to use for the project. It was decided to use the three that will mature in December and to let CD 10 automatically renew. Mike made a motion to that effect, Ray made the second. Motion carried. Ray made the motion to pay the claim to Tri-City Paving for $219,774.14 leaving the $11,000 for next spring when the repairs are made. Mike made the second. Motion carried.
Review of the snow contract with Herdering, Inc., Ray made a motion to accept the new rate at $95.00 per hour. Mike made the second. Motion carried.
Additional agenda item: Mike attended the annual Fire Board meeting held on Tuesday, November 21, 2017. Mike reported no new changes. He did relay the concern for brush control on a minimum maintenance road that the fire department needed to access and would like the Township to do some trimming along.
Weed report is due in January and can be completed at the next meeting.
Discussion on the January meeting date- Ron made the motion to move the meeting date to January 8, 2018 due to the New Years Holiday. Clerk will post and publish.
Adjournment: Motion by Ron to adjourn the meeting. Ray made the second. Meeting adjourned at 8:55 p.m.
