Call to Order: Ron Frericks called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. The pledge of allegiance was recited.
Members Present: Ron Frericks, Ray Bense, Mary Ann Primus, Mike Rohe and Erv Herdering
Agenda Approval: A preliminary agenda was presented. Ron asked if there were additions to the agenda. Ray made the motion to accept the agenda. Mike made the second. All in favor. Motion carried.
Approval of Minutes: The clerk provided copies of the December 7, 2020 minutes to the board by email on their new chrome books. Mike made the motion to accept the minutes, Ray made the second. Minutes approved.
Town Clerk’s Report: Clerk presented the claims list for December. Claims list included claims 3529-3538 for a total of $15,025.66. Ron had a question about the tree cutting on 140th. After some discussion, Mike made a motion to approve the claim as it was done for safety reasons such as icing on the roadway and there was a request from a landowner. Ray made a second. Motion carried. Mike then made a motion to approve all the claims as well as one to include the payroll as the tax tables had not yet been updated. Ray made the second. Motion carried. Payroll will be completed as soon as the State Auditor releases the 2021 Tax Tables. Mail included a letter from Pollution Control on their hearing to make some rule changes and a LTAP flyer.
Reorganization – Meeting times stayed at 8:00 p.m. on the first Monday of the month. All compensations, duties and depository remained the same, but an increase to $700.00 for emergency expense. Mileage will be paid according to IRS rates. Posting places are still in the Township window, the Post Office, and the Credit Union. Mike made a motion to approve the reorganization, Ray made the second. Motion carried.
Road and Bridge Report: Ray approved the addition of an approach on 130th, no culvert was needed. Ray also reported the access to Little Birch was in tough shape and suggested the Township look at another one that was not being used. Ray will contact the DNR to discuss the options. Mike notified Millwood Township of the possibility that the Township is considering dust control on that shared road.
Additional agenda item: The annual audit meeting was set for Feb. 8, 2021 at 8:00 p.m. The weed report was completed and signed by the Board chair and the Weed Inspector.
