Call to Order: Ron Frericks called the meeting to order at 8:00 pm. The pledge of allegiance was recited.
Members Present: Ron Frericks, Ray Bense, Mary Ann Primus & Mike Rohe.
Agenda Approval: A preliminary agenda was presented. Ron asked if there were additions to the agenda. Ray made the motion to accept the agenda. Mike made the second. All in favor. Motion carried.
The clerk provided copies of the June 4, 2018 minutes to the board. Mike made the motion to accept the minutes, Ray made the second. Minutes approved.
Town Clerk’s Report: Clerk presented the claims list for June. Claims list included claims 3196-3207 for a total of $20,086.72. Ray made the motion to approve the claims; Mike made the second, Motion carried. Mail included a letter from Rahn’s Propane, Demographic Center, Angler Drive final approval letter, the hold-harmless agreement and Tri-City being acquired by Knife River.
Road and Bridge Report: Ray is planning on removing two signs on corner of Brakken and 341st and replacing with curve ahead signs. Ray will fill in the crack on 130th, and will contact the company the Township had scheduled to do more of the crack filling. Spraying was completed and a bill submitted. Tree trimming for several roads – a bid from Klemish Tree Service was submitted for $6,500.00. Mike made the motion to accept the bid, Ron made the second. Ray suggested the Township consider Arden Drive for the next tar project as it could be done with the Angler Drive project. Rescheduled the meeting with Tri-City to Monday, July 9. Ron had a call about a contractor dumping gravel/fill on a township road, that had just been treated for dust control. Also, a question as to when ditch mowing could be started. Ditch mowing bids were reviewed and Ray made the motion to hire Lee Buchholz as he could take a wider swath and had done a good job in the past. Millwood Township has agreed to having gravel applied to the town line road. Culvert on Chippewa Road will be replaced.
Clerk presented a list of potential election judges to the Board. Mike made the motion to accept the list as presented upon completion of the required training. Ray made the second. Work on the back room will start this week. The shed will come down this month.
A Township resident had a question of who enforces the County ordinance about having two residences on a lake shore property. The Board felt it should be the County as they are doing Planning and Zoning. However, this property owner had no luck when she called the County.
