Grey Eagle Township July 3, 2017

Call to Order: Ron Frericks called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. The pledge of allegiance was recited. Members Present: Ron Frericks, Ray Bense, Mary Ann Primus & Mike Rohe.
Agenda Approval: A preliminary agenda was presented. Ron asked if there were additions to the agenda. Ray made the motion to accept the agenda. Mike made the second. All in favor. Motion carried.
Approval of Minutes: The clerk provided copies of the June 5, 2017 minutes to the board. Mike made the motion to accept the minutes, Ray made the second. Minutes approved.
Town Clerk’s Report: Clerk presented the claims list for June. Claims list included 9 claims 3075-3083 for a total of $15,802.31. Ray made the motion to approve the claims; Mike made the second. Motion carried unanimously. Mail included U of M training information, P&Z letters and a pipeline safety letter.
Road and Bridge Report: Ray reported that the crack filling will be put off until spring to get better results. Ray contacted Carr’s Tree Service for spraying brush, at $160 per hour. Mike made a motion to have them spray spots designated during the spring road check. Ray made the second, motion carried. Ray removed a tree on 311th and suggested cutting approx. 4 more fallen trees in road right of way before mowing begins. Ray will take care of those. Mowing- bids from two contractors, the Board decided on Cutting Edge Tree Service to also cut some of the brush in the road right of way and to do more than one swath. Mike made the motion to hire Cutting Edge, Ray made the second, motion carried. Review of bids for tar project- Due to differences in road numbers and gravel amounts it was determined to revoke the Knife River bid that was accepted at the June 5, meeting. Mike made the motion to revoke that bid, Ray made the second. Motion carried. After discussion on which roads, amount of gravel and tar and the required width, it was determined to accept the Tri-City Paving bid. Ray made the motion to accept the Tri-City bid, Mike made the second, motion carried. Work on the Arctic Drive culvert has not yet been finished. 321st Ave. will need some gravel and a more permanent metal culvert.
Meeting Date changes: For August the meeting will be held on August 14, for September the meeting will be September 11.
Public Comment: A question was asked about payment for beavers trapped. Ray made the motion to pay for the two beavers at $50.00 each, as this was helpful in lowering the water level. Mike made the second. Motion carried.
Adjournment: Motion by Ray to adjourn the meeting. Mike made the second. Meeting adjourned at 8:55 p.m.
