Call to Order: Ron Frericks called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m.
Members Present: Ron Frericks, Ray Bense, Mary Ann Primus & Mike Rohe. Erv Herdering joined later.
Agenda Approval: A preliminary agenda was presented. Ron asked if there were additions to the agenda. Ray made the motion to accept the agenda. Mike made the second. Motion carried.
Approval of Minutes: The clerk provided copies of the June 1, 2020 minutes to the board. Mike made the motion to accept the minutes. Ray made the second. Motion carried.
Town Clerk’s Report: Clerk presented the claims list for June. Claims list included claims 3457-3469-for a total of $29,724.58. This included the first half of the fire contract. Mike made the motion to approve the claims as listed. Ray made the second, Motion carried. Mail included a newsletter from U of M, emails about federal funding regarding Covid 19, Township health benefits, a question on a drainage easement and the State’s population report.
Road and Bridge Report: Ray reported on trees cut that had fallen on roadways. Ray also did a road tour with spraying contractor and brought back a cost of $1,850.00. Mike made a motion to go ahead with the spraying, Ray made the second, motion carried. Shouldering on Arden Drive will need some work as there were several washouts. Ray suggested using clay or clay mixed with rock. Discussion on stumps along 130th and 337th- at least should spray, then decide. Ron had two phone calls one from a law student about Covid 19 and what steps the Township was taking. The other from L. Buccholz as he is ready to start mowing ditches.
Additional agenda item: Election update – need to approve election judges. Mike made a motion to approve those on the list upon completion of the training. Ray made a second, motion carried. Ron made a motion that the judges be paid $15.00 per hour and the head judge $20.00 per hour, with no mileage as trainings are being held on line. Mike made the second, motion carried.
Adjournment: Motion by Ray to adjourn the meeting. Mike made the second. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 9:00 p.m.
