Call to Order: Ron Frericks called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m.
Members Present: Ron Frericks, Ray Bense, Mary Ann Primus & Mike Rohe. Chris Pelzer was also present. Erv Herdering joined later.
Agenda Approval: A preliminary agenda was presented. Ron asked if there were additions to the agenda. Mary Ann asked to have Chris Pelzer on the agenda. Ray made the motion to accept the agenda with that addition Mike made the second. Motion carried.
Approval of Minutes: The clerk provided copies of the May 4, 2020 minutes to the board. Mike made the motion to accept the minutes. Ray made the second. Motion carried
Chris Pelzer from Todd GIS Department was present to talk about the cost savings to the Township when changing from vertical 911 signs to have them run horizontally. She stated that most of the 911 signs around the state are horizontal. She explained to the Board the different ways this could be done. A few signs at a time or on a rotation over several years. Grey Eagle Township now has approx. 643 911 signs. Cost to replace the signs would be about half of what they cost now. After some discussion, Ron made the motion to start replacing signs on a maintenance schedule and perhaps do more on a yearly schedule later. Mike made a second to the motion. All in favor, motion carried.
Town Clerk’s Report: Clerk presented the claims list for May. Claims list included claims 3446-3455-for a total of $25,176.87. A large part of this was for dust control. Mike made the motion to approve the claims as listed. Ray made the second, Motion carried. Mail included an Upsala school flyer and advertising for a road groomer.
Road and Bridge Report: Ray presented several items for the board – trees in the road ditch – Ray will cut up. Spraying – should the Township spray weeds or brush? Ray will contact someone to get on the list. Culvert on 321st – water is way down. Culvert on Chipmunk Rd. – Needs to be cleaned out. Erv will take care of this. 116th – water is way down. Crack filling- Ray brought a bid for $7,748 to do 295th Ave. Ray made the motion to accept that bid, Mike made the second. All in favor. Motion carried. Ray felt Alan R. should be paid $100.00 for clearing up the brush on 130th. Mike made the motion to pay him, Ron made the second. All in favor. Motion carried. Shouldering has started on Arden and on 335th, Ray suggested Brakken should be shouldered as far as the repairs were done. Ron signed the mileage certification for the county. And stated he had two calls, one about some Township property and another about a tree on the road, which he cleared.
Additional agenda item: Election equipment update – Todd County is now planning Phase Three and planning the replacement of the HAVA equipment. Cost to the Township would be approx. $3,620.00. Mike made the motion to approve ordering one device for the Township. Ray made the second, all in favor. Motion carried. The emergency Election plan is to use the GE City Hall in case of an emergency. Commercial Insurance Plan was reviewed and left as it was.
