These are unapproved minutes.
Call to Order: Ron Frericks called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. The pledge of allegiance was recited.
Members Present: Ron Frericks, Ray Bense, Mary Ann Primus and Mike Rohe.
Agenda Approval: A preliminary agenda was presented. Ron asked if there were additions to the agenda. Mary Ann asked to have the Angler Drive project added to the agenda. Ray made the motion to accept the agenda as amended. Mike made the second. All in favor. Motion carried.
Approval of Minutes: The clerk provided copies of the April 3, 2017 minutes to the board. Mike made the motion to accept the minutes, Ray made the second. Minutes approved.
Town Clerk’s Report: Clerk presented the claims list for March. Claims list included 9 claims 3054-3062 for a total of $21,161.37. Ray made the motion to approve the claims; Mike made the second. Motion carried unanimously. Mail included advertising, an e-mail about garbage pick up and a flyer on Asphalt repair.
Road and Bridge Report: Discussion on whether or not needed to publish notice for upcoming tar projects and repairs. If the cost is likely to be over $100,000, it needs to be published. The Board did not open the bids that had already been received, but will publish the notice, and open the bids at the June 5 meeting. During the road check it was discovered that the tar roads would need some crack filling, as Herdering does not do this type of work, the Board will look into finding someone. Ray felt there were a lot of trees down in the road right of way that will need to be cleaned up. Water is down by the culvert on 321st, still need to clear out the beavers. Ray will contact the person who did it last time. Mike made a motion to begin work that was detailed during the annual road check. Ray made the second, Motion carried.
Additional agenda items: Ron attended the Todd County Township Officer’s meeting in Browerville. Several agencies were in attendance, Todd County Auditor/Treas., Soil & Water, Solid Waste management and others. Ron felt it was a good and informative meeting. Ray attended the Weed meeting in Browerville and reported two noxious weeds to watch for are Buckthorn and the new one that came into southern Minnesota from Iowa. Mary Ann reported on the equalization meeting- two parcels up for discussion, The Board recommended no changes for either parcel.
Beach maintenance: only one bid was received for mowing and dock installation and removal. Ray made the motion to hire Hinman Lawn Service for the 2017 season. Mike made the second. Motion carried.
Ray made the motion to agree to be part of the Cooperative Construction Agreement for Improvements to Angler Drive in 2019 along with Birchdale Township and Todd County. Mike made the second. Motion carried.
