Town Clerk’s Report: Clerk presented the claims list for April. Claims list included 12 claims for a total of $23,471.84. The list included the first half of the fire protection and the new computer. Ray made the motion to approve the claims; Mike made the second, Motion carried unanimously. Clerk shared mail received this month including a letter from Rep.Kresha, Commissioner Newman and some advertising.
Treasurer’s Report: Mary Ann Primus presented the treasurer’s report as follows: Beginning Balance as of April 1, 2014: $212,833.79; Checks cleared: 14, $8,997.22; Deposits including interest: $25.49; Balance as of April 30, 2014: $203,862.06; Outstanding Deposits: 0.00; Outstanding Checks: 0.00; Cash Available: $203,862.06; CD Balance: $203,799.58.
Mike made the motion to accept the treasurer’s report. Second by Ray. All in favor, Motion carried.
Road and Bridge Report: Ron reported that the road check had been completed and that the signs were all located; although several had holes in them and two had bent posts. Ray stated he felt the Township needs to have more control over road projects and gravel. Herdering should notify the Township when he starts graveling and should complete the Township before moving on. Road projects should also have a supervisor on hand to make sure things are getting done. Todd County has sent a 5 year road plan but few projects are being done in our corner of the County.
Tar projects: Millwood Township is doing a section approx. 1.75 miles and perhaps we could join in that bid. Ray will contact Millwood Township to check on whether or not the bids had been completed. Ray also received a quote from Astech seal coating for 4.40 miles (Brakken Road, 341st and 130th east end) the cost would be $67,100.00. Erv would need to do some crack filling first and along 341st one spot would need to have the bank built up. Ray made a motion to accept this quote for the seal coating. Second by Mike. Motion approved. DNR access was discussed with the information from the attorney and it was decided the township would not sign the agreement until the fence line issue is resolved. Ron will contact Trygg Hansen.
Additional agenda items: Review of the Todd County Association meeting- Ray stated dues went up, all officers stayed the same. Beach maintenance- Received 3 quotes for the summer of 2014, Ray made a motion to accept the quote for Joe Kemper as he had done it last year and did a good job. Mike made a second to that motion. All in favor motion carried. Review of the Equalization minutes- Ray made a motion to accept the minutes as printed. Ron made the second. Motion carried.
Public Comment: Request was made from Cozy Cove that perhaps the road could be angled/sloped a bit to let the water run off rather than down the road. A request was made that the Township do a better job of weed control (dandelions) on the public access off of Cty Rd 2. Another request was for Arctic Drive, it was suggested that to get rid of the washboard effect, perhaps Herdering could cut the road a bit deeper and then roll back.
Adjournment: Motion by Ray to adjourn the meeting. Mike made the second. Meeting adjourned at 9:15 p.m. Mary Ann Primus, Clerk/Treasurer
