Grey Eagle Township May 6, 2019

Call to Order: Ron Frericks called the meeting to order at 8:00 pm. The pledge of allegiance was recited.
Members Present: Ron Frericks, Ray Bense, Mary Ann Primus & Mike Rohe, also attending was Erv Herdering.
Agenda Approval: A preliminary agenda was presented. Ron asked if there were additions to the agenda. Ray made the motion to accept the agenda. Mike made the second. All in favor. Motion carried.
Approval of Minutes: The clerk provided copies of the April 1, 2019 minutes to the board. Mike made the motion to accept the minutes, Ray made the second. Minutes approved.
Town Clerk’s Report: Clerk presented the claims list for April. Claims list included claims 3312-3322 for a total of $6,418.15. Mike made the motion to approve the claims; Ray made the second, Motion carried. Mail included the advertising, P& Z letter, and a letter from District 8.
Road and Bridge Report: Ray spoke about the cracks in the roads, Breezy Drive and 341st, a motion was made by Mike and 2nd by Ray to have Midwest Asphalt do the repairs as they did a good job last year on crack filling. Motion carried. The weed meeting was mostly about hemp, palmer amarath and the ash borer issues. The larger crack on 130th E. will need to be filled. Ray will pick up more of the product he used last year.
Ray stated he was not getting all the calls for road issues and would like his phone number (320-533-1503) included in these minutes so that residents know who to call. Ray reported he had called the DNR forestry office about the dumping in the road ditch. No dumping is allowed. Not even leaves and brush.
The 2017 road project on 335th and Ascot was discussed and the many breakups that were occurring. Ray will contact Knife River directly rather than the staff that was in charge when the road work was done. Some issues over who should pay for what repairs. Ray will get 2 bids in case the Township needs to pay for repairs so that the work can get approved and started soon.
Additional agenda item: Ray made a motion to have Hinman Lawn Service do the beach maintenance again this year. Mike made the 2nd. Motion carried.
Mileage report was completed at 31.85 miles. Ditch mowing ad will be sent to the papers and posted. Notice of Ash borer meeting in Sauk Centre.
Adjournment: Motion by Ray to adjourn the meeting. Mike made the second. Meeting adjourned at 9:25 pm.
