Grey Eagle Township October 2, 2017

Call to Order: Ron Frericks called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. The pledge of allegiance was recited.

Members Present: Ron Frericks, Ray Bense, Mary Ann Primus & Mike Rohe.

Agenda Approval: A preliminary agenda was presented. Ron asked if there were additions to the agenda. Mike made the motion to accept the agenda. Ray made the second. All in favor. Motion carried.

Approval of Minutes: The clerk provided copies of the September 11, 2017 minutes to the board. Mike made the motion to accept the minutes, Ray made the second. Minutes approved.

Town Clerk’s Report: Clerk presented the claims list for September. Claims list included claims 3103-3113 for a total of $27,830.94. This included the 2nd half of the fire contract. Mike made the motion to approve the claims; Ray made the second, Motion carried unanimously. Mail included letter about the recent data breach from 1st State Bank, MPCA and surplus services. Also, an update from Region 5 about the county wide broadband.

Road and Bridge Report: Ray reported that he spoke with a landowner about an approach, he had checked all the roads after a recent storm and cut trees on Ascot and Arden Drive. He responded to a call about beavers on Ascot Road and had the culvert cleaned and hired someone to trap the beavers. Discussion on the tree trimming on Ascot Road, some felt was unnecessary. Ron stated he had received three calls and felt it was a safety issue that needed to be taken care of and was approved at last month’s meeting. Ron also received a call about 116th where someone had tampered with the roadway. Ron suggested Erv and Ray check it out. Crack filling on tar roads was discussed and it was decided to wait until next spring. Ron asked about a permit for trapping of the beavers, Ray said didn’t need one if they were damaging a Township Road.

Adjournment: Motion by Ray to adjourn the meeting. Mike made the second. Meeting adjourned at 8:40 p.m.
