Helping Hands Outreach in Holdingford will be hosting the internationally acclaimed “Harlem Ambassadors” basketball team on September 19 at 7 p.m. in the Holdingford High School gym. The Harlem Ambassadors will play against our own hometown team, the “Lake Wobe-goners,” a mix of young and “not-so-young” local leaders and hometown heroes.
The Ambassadors set themselves apart from other “Harlem” teams by working with local not-for-profit and service organizations and holding Harlem Ambassadors shows as community fundraising events. For this event the Ambassadors have partnered with Helping Hands Outreach who will use the funds to support their work with older adults and adults with disabilities in their mission of growing a healthy community.
Offering a unique brand of Harlem-style basketball featuring high-flying slam dunks, dazzling ball-handling tricks and hilarious comedy routines, the Harlem Ambassadors are a team of talented male and female basketball players that are drug-free, college educated and positive in appearance. They are committed to giving their audience quality family entertainment and serving as positive role models for young people.
