Helicopter work planned over Interstate 94 near Melrose

Helicopter work planned over Interstate 94 near Melrose

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – Motorists traveling both directions of Interstate 94 near Melrose may encounter intermittent slow traffic and delays beginning Tuesday, Feb. 4 when CapX2020 crews use a helicopter to work over the interstate.

State Patrol Troopers will use rolling road blocks to intermittently hold back traffic on I-94 when the helicopters conduct their work over the interstate. The rolling roadblock typically moves at speeds of 15-25 miles per hour.

Motorists travelling County Road 3/South 2nd Avenue East in Melrose may also encounter delays as the ramps from County Road 3/South 2nd Avenue East to I-94 close intermittently for up to 10 minutes when work over the interstate is underway.

Motorists travelling in the area should keep their eyes on the road, watch ahead for slow traffic and be prepared to stop if necessary.

The rolling road blocks will be rescheduled if high winds or other weather conditions delay the work.

For more information about the CapX2020 project, call 763-445-5713 or visit www.capx2020.com.
