Kasper, age 74, of Burtrum, who passed away on Sunday at CentraCare Health Systems-Long Prairie. Burial will be at a later date in the Moses Dane Cemetery near Burtrum.
Henry Edward Kasper was born April 13, 1939 in Little Sauk Township, Todd Country, Minnesota, the son of Edward and Irene (Hale) Kasper. He grew up in the Long Prairie area and attended Frog Pond County School. He became a livestock dealer, and many of his customers also became lifelong friends. Henry also ran a tire repair shop for many years, helping people in the neighborhood with emergency tire repair day or night. Many of his customers would stop by the shop just to visit, which Henry really enjoyed. He also enjoyed fishing, cutting scrap iron, and cutting firewood, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Henry is survived by his sons, Henry D. “Bud” (Danielle) Kasper, Jr., Austin, MN; Daniel (LuAnn) Kasper, Clear Lake, MN; Timothy (Kelli Karst) Kasper, Burtrum; step-daughter, Elizabeth I. Quirk, Sauk Centre; former wife, Eleanor Kasper, Burtrum; siblings, Robert (Susan) Kasper, Randall, MN; Richard (Amanda) Kasper, Long Prairie; Leona (Roger) Eggerth, Burtrum; and LaVonne (Pete) Ahlers, Carlos, MN; 13 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Jerry E. Kasper, and sisters, LoAnn Poegel and infant sister Leota Kasper.
