ST. CLOUD, Minn. – Motorists travelling both directions of Highway 15 between Interstate 94 and Highway 23 in St. Cloud may encounter stopped traffic and delays as the road intermittently closes overnight Monday, Aug. 18, through Wednesday, Aug. 20.
The closures will occur on Highway 15 one mile north of I-94, near 33rd Street, for up to 30 minutes at time from 7 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. each night.
Motorists travelling Highway 15 after 7 p.m. should be prepared to stop and seek alternate routes if possible.
The closures are needed as crews place beams as part of the new Highway 15/33rd Street S interchange in south St. Cloud. The interchange is part of a larger project that will expand 33rd Street S, span the roadway across Highway 15 and construct four roundabouts between Graniteview Road and County Road 74.
When complete later this year, the project will improve mobility and access between the city of St. Cloud, Highway 15, I-94 and future development in south St. Cloud.
The project is being led by the city of St. Cloud and is funded in part by a Transportation Economic Development grant.
For more information on the project, visit the city of St. Cloud project page, download a basic layout or call 320-255-7249.
