Motorists who travel Highway 238 in Albany will encounter a detour and delays after a short segment of the road, between Railroad Avenue and the southeast side of North Lake, closes after 5 a.m. Monday, June 11.
Motorists should plan additional time for travel, and follow the short detour along County Road 53/Sixth Street and Soo Line Avenue.
All lanes of Highway 238 are scheduled to open by mid-September.
The closure and detour are needed as part of a project to reconstruct about one-half mile of Highway 238, install new underground utilities and improve pedestrian infrastructure.
When complete, the project will provide a smoother ride, and improve drainage and accessibility in the area.
