Ramps remain open until further notice
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – Motorists who travel the Highway 27 bridge over Interstate 94, south of Osakis, will encounter a detour and, potentially, significant delays when the bridge closes Monday, March 27.
Signed detours will direct motorists to the I-94/Highway 29 interchange, located 11.5 miles west of Highway 27 in Alexandria, or to the I-94/County Road 46 interchange, located 4.5 miles east of Highway 27 near West Union.
Motorists can download a detour map from the project website.
After the bridge closes March 27, motorists should expect the following:
· The Highway 27 bridge over I-94 will remain closed through early July.
· All ramps at the I-94/Highway 27 interchange will remain open until further notice.
· I-94 at Highway 27 will be reduced to a single lane as needed through early July.
· More information on future traffic changes will be issued as details become available.
The closures are needed while crews redeck, repair and resurface the Highway 27 bridge; repair and resurface both bridge approaches; and resurface all four interchange ramps. When complete, the project will extend the life of the bridge and improve the road’s ride quality.
