ST. CLOUD, Minn. – Motorists on Highway 71 between Sauk Centre and Long Prairie will encounter flaggers, heavy equipment and potential delays as segments of the road are reduced to a single lane while crews patch the roadway. The closures and work will occur Mondays through Thursdays, from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., through Aug. 20.
Motorists on Highway 71 between Sauk Centre and Long Prairie should watch for the daily work zones, slow and prepare to stop as they approach the daily work zones, and must obey the flaggers before proceeding through the work zone.
The closures are needed while crews patch and seal cracks along 10 miles of Highway 71. When complete, the project will extend the life of the pavement and help ensure Highway 71 continues to serve Minnesota motorists and local communities for many years.
