Hildegard A. Bromenshenkel

Hildegard A. Bromenshenkel, age 99 of Sauk Centre, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Sunday, December 5, 2021 at CentraCare Care Center in Melrose, Minnesota.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 10 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Eb Scheffers officiating. Interment will be held in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre and from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Friday at the church. Parish prayers will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Hildegard Agnes Schley was born June 15, 1922 in Melrose, Minnesota to William and Katherine (Lang) Schley. She was united in marriage to Victor Bromenshenkel on May 26, 1941 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. The couple farmed southwest of Sauk Centre. She was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Sauk Centre, Christian Women, Minnesota Rural Electric Cooperative Women’s Group, Lyman Prairie Homemakers, Little Flower Missions Group and the Crosier Apostolate. Hildegard enjoyed crocheting, embroidering, bowling, swimming, reading, quilting, home decorating, antiquing, and going to garage sales.
Survivors include her children, Gene (Carol) Bromenshenkel of Duluth, Dave (Irma) Bromenshenkel of Sauk Centre, Marilyn (Lyle) Uhlenkamp of Sauk Centre, Linda (Chuck) Clayton of Mazeppa, Larry (Dorothy) Bromenshenkel of Sauk Centre, and Tina (Tom) Hong of Maple Grove; 20 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
Hildegard was preceded in death by her husband, Victor “Vic” Bromenshenkel on October 2, 2004; parents; brothers and sisters, Frank Schley, Edmund Schley, Helen Kollmann, Dorothy Reller, Mary Brekas, Theresa Lyman, Sophie Meyer and Marcella Fahlgren; and one great-grandson.
Memorials are preferred to Holy Family School in Sauk Centre.
Arrangements were made with Patton-Schad Funeral & Cremation Services of Sauk Centre.
