Expect one-lane traffic each way
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – Motorists who travel on Interstate 94 in Collegeville will encounter lane closures and one-lane traffic in each direction between St. John’s Road/136th Avenue and Stearns County Road 2, near St. Joseph, as bridge work begins Monday, July 10, reports the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
The project will close, repair and resurface the westbound I-94 bridge over eastbound Stearns County Road 75 through late September.
Crews will set up the work zone first, which includes installing concrete barrier, temporary crossovers and other traffic control devices.
Here’s what to expect:
Active work zone—one lane, each direction, 24/7
Eastbound access to County Road 75 (Exit 158) will close; continue east to Stearns County Road 2 at I-94 (Exit 160)
Expect delays at busy times; use alternate routes or travel at off-peak hours
Plan for reduced speeds of 60 miles per hour; be advised the fine for speeding in a work zone is $300
In late September, motorists will encounter periodic lane or shoulder closures as crews remove the temporary crossovers and wrap up project.

When complete, the $2 million project will provide a smoother bridge surface and reduce overall maintenance costs on Interstate 94 in Collegeville.
