James A. “Jimmy” Hamann, age 71 of Albany, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at his home in Albany, Minnesota.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 20 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Albany with Rev. Bradley Pearson officiating. Interment was at Our Savior’s Lutheran Cemetery in Albany.
James Alvin Hamann was born January 25, 1941 in Farming Township, Stearns County, Minnesota to Otto and Linda (Klug) Hamann. He was united in marriage to Shirley Schultz on November 24, 1984 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in St. Cloud. Jimmy farmed all his life. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and his dogs. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Jimmy was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Albany.
Survivors include brothers, Gilbert (Gloria) Hamann of Cold Spring, Eldo (Marian) Hamann of Roberts, WI and Norman (Carol) Hamann of Albany; one niece; six nephews; and many cousins.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Shirley Hamann on October 6, 1994.
Serving as casket bearers were Justin Hamann, Jacob Hamann, Joshua Pelzer, Daniel Hamann, Dale Hamann, Glen Hamann, Galen Hamann, and Scott Hamann.
Arrangements were made with Patton-Schad Funeral & Cremation Services of Melrose.
