
James A. Loxterkamp, 54 year old resident of Swanville, MN, passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at Diamond Willow in Little Falls, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, June 26, 2017 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Swanville, MN with Father Ron Dockendorf officiating. Burial was at St. John the Baptist Parish Cemetery in Swanville, MN.
James was born on January 7, 1963 in Melrose, MN to the late Anthony and Louise (Hiltner) Loxterkamp. He grew up in Swanville, MN where he attended school and graduated with the class of 1981. James was employed at Larson Boats in Little Falls, MN for many years. He was a very kind and gentle person. Jim always put his children and family first, and would give them the shirt off his back. He also had a great love for animals. He always had dogs, horses, and swans on his farm, but often tried to find a very exotic or unusual animal to bring to the farm to care for. Christmas was his favorite time of year in which he took great pride in decorating for Christmas and making sure the family was together. He was a life long member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Swanville, MN and was very involved with the foreign exchange student program at the Swanville Schools. Jim passed away with a strong faith in the Lord and a deep love for his large family. He was greatly loved and will be dearly missed.
James is survived by brothers, Duane Loxterkamp of Swanville, MN, John Loxterkamp of Swanville, MN, Marvin Loxterkamp of Minneapolis, MN, Alan Loxterkamp of Swanville, MN, Gary Loxterkamp of Swanville, MN and Michael (Janice) Loxterkamp of Swanville, MN; sisters, Kathleen (Gerald) Zyvoloski of Sobieski, MN, Lois (John) Blais of St. Michael, MN, Debra (Mark) Sieben of Swanville, MN, Michelle (Anthony II) Notermann of Swanville, MN; children, Tyler Fletcher of Hoffman, MN, Joshua (Miranda) Kircher of Duluth, MN and Ashley (Alex) Coleman of Hoffman, MN; grandchildren, Darian Stevenson, Zander Coleman and Aribella Coleman; and many nieces and nephews.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Louise Loxterkamp and nephew, Darin Loxterkamp.
