
Jane M. Kurtti, age 96 of Grey Eagle, formerly of Motley, died Thursday, June 29, 2017 at the CentraCare Health Nursing Home in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 5 at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose. A family inurnment will be held at a later date in St. Benedict’s Cemetery in Avon.
Jane Marie Staddon was born November 10, 1920 in Indian Creek Township, Pulaski County, Indiana to William and Dora May (Roetruck) Staddon. She was united in marriage to Emil Kurtti on March 2, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois. The couple moved to Motley, Minnesota and farmed until their retirement in 1998. Jane and Emil moved to Fayetteville, Arkansas to care for their daughter, JoAnn, who had cancer. JoAnn died in 2005 and Emil died in 2006. In May of 2007, Jane married Tony Beuning.
Jane was very knowledgeable about history and loved working and correctly completing the St. Cloud Times crossword puzzles daily.
Survivors include her sister, Elsie Hendrickson of Berry, Kentucky; step-children, Marcella Irby, Evelyn Budde, and Leroy Beuning; and 13 step-grandchildren.
Jane was preceded in death by her husbands, Emil Kurtti and Tony Beuning; parents; daughter, Joann Kurtti; step-son, Herb Beuning; brothers and sisters, Mary Ann, Ruth, Samuel, Carrie, George, Robert, and Margaret.
Arrangements were made with Patton-Schad Funeral & Cremation Services of Melrose.
