Funeral Service was held at 2 pm Friday, December 2, 2016 at First Baptist Church, Long Prairie, for Janlin R. Tomford, age 51 of Long Prairie who passed away on Tuesday at CentraCare Health Systems-Long Prairie. Rev. Gary Taylor officiated and burial was at Pleasant Valley Cemetery near Clotho.
Janlin Renee Holen was born December 15, 1964 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the daughter of Robert Holen and Marilyn Shaske. The family lived in the Twin Cities for a time before moving to Long Prairie in 1970. She attended Long Prairie High School graduating in 1982. She worked for several area business and most recently was working as a program counselor for Meridan Services. Janlin married Harlon Tomford on February 15, 2000 in Las Vegas. They made their home near Long Prairie.
Janlin enjoyed collecting antiques, riding Harley’s, playing cards, gardening, and fishing and camping. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Janlin is survived by her husband, Harlon, Long Prairie; children, Rachelle (Evelio) Sanchez Martinez, Amber (Luis) Robles Martinez, Leslie Mendoza, Shauna Toenyan, Shane (Barbara) Holen, and Halley Tomford, all of Long Prairie; siblings, Alan (Nancy) Rasmussen, Brainerd; Darren Holen, Long Prairie; Julie (Thomas) Carter, Columbia Heights; and Judy (Dan) Claremboux, Cambridge; brothers-in-law, Raymond, William, and Melvin, JR. Tomford, all of Long Prairie; sisters-in-law, Betty (Donald Howe) Tomford, Long Prairie, and Gloria Eberle, Texas; and 13 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son Chad Holen, and two grandsons, Jayden Robles and Leon Tyler.
Casket bearers were Alan Rasmussen, Brian Toenyan, Dilan Remmers, Marcellino Lopez, Dakota Davis and Eric Rasmussen.
